Carino's Italian is a United States-based chain of Italian food casual dining restaurants. It has more than 170 restaurants with branches in about 30 states. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, the concept is owned by Fired Up, Inc., which was founded in 1997 by partners and former Brinker International executives Norman Abdallah and Creed Ford. Prior to 2006, restaurants were called Johnny Carino's Country Italian, Johnny Carino's Italian then changed to Carino's Italian Grill.

Penne Pasta with Crab, Roasted Peppers and Cheese
Johnny Carino Recipe

Serves 2

1/2 pound dry penne pasta
1/2 cup vegetable or natural chicken stock
6 oz fresh jumbo lump crab meat
1 each roasted red bell pepper sliced thinly
4 tablespoons non fat cheese crumbled
cracked black pepper as needed
3 teaspoons fresh basil slices
4 basil sprigs

 Heat a pot of water and season with salt and olive oil. Cook pasta until al dante and meanwhile get the sauce ready.    Heat stock  at a simmer and slowly add in cheese stirring well and often. Add peppers, and crab and than cracked pepper to your taste. Add In sliced basil and than drain pasta and add into sauce stirring well. Place onto a plate and garnish with a basil sprig
